Shimano Double Black Diamond Trail
Opening August 2026
Bike Wentworth Featured by Singletracks for New Shimano Trail Born-Funded DH Trail
Bike Wentworth is proud to be featured by Singletracks, one of the leading mountain bike publications, for the development of our new downhill trail made possible with support from Shimano’s Trail Born Fund.
The article highlights the growth of Bike Wentworth over the past five years, including the development of more than 40 km of trails and the continued momentum behind mountain biking in Wentworth Valley. It also shares the story behind our new race-ready double black diamond downhill trail, which is currently under construction and expected to open to the public by August 1.
The new trail was supported through a $55,000 grant from Shimano’s Trail Born Fund, awarded in two phases for 2025 and 2026, with the Wentworth Mountain Bike Association serving as the point group for the project.
This project is a major step forward for Bike Wentworth, our riders, and the future of mountain biking in Nova Scotia. The feature recognizes the work of Shimano, Wentworth Mountain Bike Association, Kodiak Trail Works, Thor Durning, Adam Purcell, the Wilson family, our trail crew, and the broader riding community that continues to support trail development at Wentworth.
We are proud of how far Bike Wentworth has come, and even more excited for what’s ahead.
