Disc Golf High School Event
On Friday June 19 several schools from around the province will be competing at Bike Wentworth for the first ever high school disc golf championship.
This event will be an annual feature in the Wentworth calendar. Our hope is that someday in their not too distant future the majority of schools in Nova Scotia will submit teams.
This year we expect over 50 students from 5 schools in the northern region to take part. Schools will submit teams of two who play a modified 18 hole layout of ‘best disc’ doubles.
Thanks to a partnership with PDGA Canada and Flickline Disc Golf, we’re able to keep costs low for participants while creating a great event experience for these student athletes.
Teams will tee off between 10am-12 noon and will be finishing on the Chickadee between 2-3:30.
We strongly encourage the public to come out and cheer on these student athletes as they add a new skill to their sport repertoire!!
Disc Golf Summit Series #1
The Summit Series is the perfect way to experience the best of what disc golf on the mountain can be. These single day events offer a high quality experience for both experienced PDGA players as well as brand-new to the game people who might want to try their hand at a new sport.
Each player who signs up in advance will receive a ‘chair time’ that will be their designated time to load on the chairlift. The first chair will be at 10am and will run until 12:20 for disc golfers. Players will take the chair for a scenic and pleasurable journey to the top of the mountain and their round will begin when they arrive at the top. All registered players will play 2 official PDGA rated rounds. Each player will receive a lift ticket for the day and 2 rated rounds. For all Amateur division players a light bbq lunch will be provided free of charge. Pro player will have the option to purchase lunch. (Exact layouts will be determined based on total number of players). The event will be capped at 96 total players and should be roughly 5 hours from the start of your round to the end of your day.
Cost will be $47 for Amateur divisions and $70 for Professional players.
The first group of the day MUST be ready to load on the first chair by 955.
There will be a small awards ceremony at the barn for each division 20 minutes after the final hole has been completed. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 finishers in each division.

WHAT TO PACK
Racers are allowed to stop on course to access water and food at the base facility and water supply stations as long as they don’t overly delay, or detour, from a transit. Personal responsibility and self-sufficiency are a large part of Enduro racing and riders are encouraged to carry adequate equipment for operating in mountainous environments. Each rider should remember that they are solely responsible for themselves but may assist other racers on course. Riders should be prepared to carry sufficient water to last a minimum of 2 hours of racing between water stops. Food or equipment stashes are not permitted on the mountain.
It is strongly recommended that all racers carry:
· Suitable backpack or hip back
· Waterproof jacket
· Tube / puncture repair kit & pump

If riders need immediate assistance and are in transit please call the Emergency Number and we will dispatch help. If riders need to stop during a Special Stage to assist another rider with crash/injury they will be allowed to repeat the stage. Safety is our #1 priority.
The mandatory rider meeting will cover additional safety details for all participants.
